For us, as a museum that deals with cultures from across the world and that has the task of representing these diverse ­cultures with integrity, it has become a necessity to be self-critical about the types of narratives we develop and the words we use.

Words matter. Consider the power of what you put out there and what words you use to express your thoughts, feelings, and actions. Finding positivity is not hard, but it does require action. Knowing that words matter as they do, we can choose more consciously what words we use to express ourselves.

Matter is anything that has mass and occupies space. All matter can exist in three (3)states. There are: solid, liquid and gas. In addition, all matter is made up of particles: atoms, molecules and ions. In the solid state state, the particles are packed closely together in a regular manner.
