Research proposal outline template

Outline for Research Project Proposal. (adapted from Course Materials for Psycholinguistics) When writing, please use section headings to indicate where the information can be found. Subheadings need not be used, though in long sections they may facilitate organization.

Abstract The abstract is a brief summary made up of about 300 words where you would write your research question, the rationale of the study, hypothesis if you were able to form one and your main findings. Method description can include the research design, procedures used, sample, and instrument. You may also see project proposal templates.

Title page. Like your dissertation or thesis, the proposal will usually have a title page that includes: The proposed title of your project; Your name; Your supervisor’s name; The institution and department; Check with the department or funding body to see if there are any specific formatting requirements.
